The Kent 2012 Schools Torch Project:
This is aproject that began to explore how young people from Kent and Pas de Calais could engage creatively with the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games ahead of London 2012. As Creative Explorers, Physically Active Participants, Informed Spectators and Creators of Lasting Mementos, the young people from four schools explored the Olympic and Paralympic Values through PRIDE:
Personal Excellence, Respect & Friendship, Inspiration, Determination & Courage, Equality
The project culminated in a celebratory event designed and run by the young people. Schools from Calais were invited to share in the celebration.
The Kent 2012 Schools Torch Project (Salue) took place between January and April 2011 and was a Kent County Council Sport, Leisure and Olympics service in partnership with KCC Children, Families and Education initiative, designed and delivered by Workers of Art.
